Proof that I am a good person! #MatchDayMKE (a semi-serious post about heaven points and the Hunger Task Force)

So, I've been kind of M.I.A. lately, huh?

I'd apologize for it and list all of the millions of reason you faithful readers have been deprived of my fantastically awesome blog posts, but I'll spare you because I have something REALLY important to talk about today.

It's important because:

A) It helps those in Milwaukee who are in need.

AND

B) It helps me by giving me some serious heaven points* and convincing all of you that I'm actually a good person who cares about more than just makeup, booze, hotties, and Mike (not that he's not a hottie, he totally is. He's just a gay hottie. Totally doesn't count.)

*A/N: "Heaven points" are something I just made up yesterday. Basically I've convinced myself that if I collect enough of them, I'll get into heaven. It's totally legit. I bet I can even get a shaman or two to agree.

Anyway, on to the point of this post.

I was recently sent a DM on Twitter from the Hunger Task Force that said, "Hi Kayla! You're one of the most popular, local Twitter personalities and we need your help for a one-day campaign to help feed Milwaukee!"

Now, clearly someone did their homework, because everyone knows the way to my heart is to insinuate that I'm some sort of social media celebrity.

And so I took on another role. I am now a beauty blogger, a satire blogger, and a local SAINT!

As part of my new saintly duties, tomorrow I will be tweeting like crazy (imma prolly be REAL annoying) about the first annual Hunger Task Force Match Day.

Match Day is an online giving campaign that runs from 5:00 a.m to 11:00 p.m tomorrow, March 8th.

The best part is that ALL online donations during this time will be matched by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, so it's a great opportunity for people to donate and make a huge impact.

All of the donations collected will go to support Hunger Task Force's Farm and Fish Hatchery, a unique urban farm in Franklin that produces over 300,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables each year for Milwaukee's hungry. For many who struggle with hunger in Milwaukee, the Farm is their only source of fresh produce!

If you'd like to donate, please click this link: www.DonateToHungerTaskForce.org

You can give a little or give a lot, and it's all going to go to an excellent cause. Plus whatever you're able to donate will be doubled thanks to the Greater Milwaukee Foundation.

Plus I'll give a THOUSAND heaven points to anyone who donates. I invented them so I'm pretty sure I get to give them out.

Also, if you'd like to join me in tweeting about this campaign you can send the link around with the hashtag #MatchDayMKE and change your Twitter and Facebook picture to the photo above.

SEE YOU GUYS! I'M A GOOD PERSON!

I'm going to go ahead and give myself 100 more heaven points just for being me.
