I Think I'm Seizing. Just Kidding. Maybe.

OH. EM. GEE.

Jenny, the Bloggess, who I posted about here and we freaked out about here mentioned us in her weekly wrap-up!

Right now I'm sure of two things:

1. My heart is beating at a dangerous pace.

But that's okay because,

2. My life is complete and I can totes die happy now.

The Bloggess: The Aftermath

So, Mike recently blogged about our undying love for The Bloggess. Well, something happened that we hadn't even dreamed would happen: The Bloggess herself commented on the post. Below is the Facebook conversation that ensued.

Mike:
  • OMG
  • THE BLOGGESS COMMENTED ON MY POST

Kayla:
  • OMG I'M HYPERVENTILATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mike:
  • ME TOOOOO
  • I don't know how to respond

Kayla:
  • My mind is totally blank.
  • I just choked on my coffee because I don't even know how to respond.

Mike:
  • I'm not sure I can function
  • I think I might have started screaming when I saw it, but I can’t be sure. And, yes, I’m at work.

Kayla:
  • This is the happiest day of my life.

Mike:
  • Mine too.
  • I'm like trembling and giggling.

Kayla:
  • I know me too.
  • Thank god we weren't together when this happened. I think we would have caused an earthquake.
  • OF JOY!

Mike:
  • I KNOW
  • I feel like there would have been more jumping up and down and louder vocalizations if we were together

Kayla:
  • Yeah.
  • I want to do a SHOT!
  • And then dance on a bar.
  • And then probably get a tattoo.

Mike:
  • Can we tattoo her face on our chests?

Kayla:
  • Yes.
  • Over our hearts.

Mike:
  • Let’s do it!
  • Gonna go vom, brb

Kayla:
  • I feel like I might vom too. I'm afraid that if I stand up I'll start jumping around and/or dancing.

Mike:
  • I don't remember what I was working on. And I have this insatiable urge to make tribal vocalizations.
  • I might be seizing

Kayla:
  • I don't know what my body's doing anymore but it feels like my organs are quivering.
  • I usually only feel this way when I'm extremely pissed off but this whole "shaking with joy" thing is new for me.
  • It's not helping that I just downed a pot of coffee.

Mike:
  • I seriously don't remember what I was doing. I'm gonna have to ask my boss. "I just had a seizure, what was I working on again?"

The Bloggess: An Inspiration

So, Kayla and I heart The Bloggess. She is a major inspiration for this blog and I'd like to share the story of my first true interaction with her.

It happened in July. I was really down for reasons I can't discuss (see about half-way down this post); it was to the point that I was crying at my desk at work (okay so I’m not the manliest). I went to Twitter in search of some solice and discovered that The Bloggess (a.k.a. Jenny Lawson by the way) had just tweeted a link to her most recent post and suddenly I was laughing. I was so grateful that I tweeted The Bloggess:

@OfficiallyMike: "@TheBloggess I'm having like the worst day EVER. At work crying at my desk and then I read one of your posts and I'm laughing. Thank you."

So, I know she's a busy woman and all, but I kind of expected a tweet back. You know, "Thank you" or "Thanks" or just "TY" or maybe just "x". SOMETHING to show thanks for my thanks. Well, I got no tweet back. Being the bitter gay that I am, I tweeted her back a couple days later:

@OfficiallyMike: "@TheBloggess Please follow me so that I can block you. We're in a fight. #bittergay"

Well, this time she tweeted me back:

@TheBloggess: "@OfficiallyMike I'm *already* following you. You are terrible at feuding with me."

Touché.
